Towards the end of last week, in a blog article of mine (https://electrifyinglylit.com/2021/05/30/quick-update-good-news-everyone/), I mentioned that two poems of mine have been selected by aAh! Magazine for publication on their website.
I’m vey happy to announce that the first of these, ‘We strangle nature’s bough’, has now been uploaded on their website–the link for which you can find below:
I don’t want to spoil the poem for you too much, so I won’t say much about it! Like most of my other poems, it does revolve around the theme of Nature (after all, it was submitted as part of aAh Magazine’s April Theme: Nature); and I did go and write the poem with the idea that it was going to be an allegory about the treatment of natural surroundings. Of course, like with most works, it can be interpreted in many ways.
aAh Magazine is Manchester Metropolitan University’s official arts and culture student magazine. It offers students in Manchester (UK) opportunities to build up their portfolios of previous work, before they enter into any branch of the creative industry. If you want to help foster the next generation of writers, journalists, artists, and poets, please give this magazine some attention.
Again, my thanks to all those who have helped me in some way to get my works published, and to all of you wonderful loyalists who continue to support what I’m doing.
Tom
