A new chapter begins in the story of my life. Will what came before continue to mean something?

Must good things come to an end?
Life is change, is it not? We can’t always stay in the past, as comfortable as it may be, because living is about moving. To strive, to seek as Tennyson wrote in Ulysses, is the meaning of life itself; movement, an adventure perhaps, echoes the sentiment that life is not about the final destination, but instead the journey getting there; the things that were accomplished, the opportunities taken–and the things left behind.
I’m saying all this because I’m at a transitory stage in my life already, where a new life–a ‘new me’–awaits over the horizon, but its only reachable if certain things are sacrificed or left behind. How this crossroad has come to be is down to one significant, personal event (one I won’t openly discuss for sakes of privacy), and the decision to return to university.
Knowledge requires sacrifice
I started this blog under very unique circumstances: It was meant to be a side-project during a global pandemic, a productive way to spend my free-time while the world was closed off. And I’ve loved every second of it. Offering my writing up to you, the reader, has been nothing short of exhilarating and joyous. Its given me a confidence boost thats helped me to come out of my shell a bit more.
Now, while I love for this to continue, I’ve come to terms with the need to balance my passion for my blog with heavier commitments–that being my university degree. Unfortunately its not easy to study something, even if you love it, at university level. You’ve got to sacrifice, on average, three years out of your own life, to study everything about a particular subject–which, for me, is writing things found in this blog.
In simple terms university’s a big ask, and it doesn’t give much spare time to big projects.
What does all of this mean?
I’ve made the choice to put electrifyinglylit.com on a temporary hiatus for the sakes of my future career and completing my studies. Although it is painful, its a decision I stand by it 100%.
It doesn’t mean for one second that this blog isn’t coming back, not ever. It means that you shouldn’t expect the same intensity of uploads from September until Summer 2022. Besides, I’ve published a LOT already, so if you’re yearning for more of my writing, why not read the things you might have missed?
This is not the end.
