Hi everyone! Its been a while, huh?
Well, what have I been doing since my last post? As it turns out, a LOT. Who would’ve believed that MA Publishing is hard!?
Jokes aside, I’ve been developing my article writing skills through a group project: A one-off student magazine!
I don’t know if I can share the whole thing yet as it is an assessment thats awaiting feedback, but I’ll be discussing this with my project tutor once I get the opportunity to do so.*
‘.stu’ is a student magazine that introduces Manchester to undergraduate students new to the city. I came up with the name and the basic cover idea, although (granted) when you’re part of a team such decisions had to be approved by others–I’m glad in this scenario that they were. I wrote two articles also (see pics): One was an opinion-article about the Hacienda club and its legacy, and the other was a list about the best nightclubs in Manchester.
As the project’s advertisement director it was my responsibility to network and approach relevant organisations or groups, in order to secure their approval to be advertised within this magazine. I was so lucky to have got Afflecks’ aboard on this project!
I did design a few advertisements, but sadly these didn’t make the cut.
Overall, the magazine does fit the whole student magazine design we were looking for!
